Joint survey on violence against health care released In the words of the IHF’s CEO Ronald Lavater, “Attacks against health care workers, hospitals and ambulances are not acceptable. Health systems can only function when both workforces and facilities are secure and protected.”
Released on 19 July, the results of our joint survey with the International Committee of the Red Cross, International Council of Nurses, and World Medical Association on increasing violence against health care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we are shining a light on the scale of the problem and sharing real-world solutions for prevention and mitigation of violence against health care. |

Record-breaking number of entries for the IHF Awards 2022!
Thank you to all hospitals and health organizations who submitted nominations for the IHF Awards 2022. We have had another record-breaker this year with over 400 entries received from 35 countries/territories! An esteemed panel of judges will review the 7 Award categories and the winners will be revealed in November at a special ceremony at the 45th World Hospital Congress. |

The session, chaired by IHF President Deborah Bowen, will feature a panel of women leaders sharing their personal journeys. |

Latest YEL masterclass focused on self-management
As a young hospital executive, it is a valuable exercise to reflect on your “leadership signature”. Having self-awareness about your purpose, vision and values will add authenticity and power to your actions. Together with the Young Executive Leaders programme partner, WittKieffer, the IHF was delighted to welcome Jennifer Nguyen and Tori Ellis of CMA Global Inc to deliver July’s motivational masterclass.

Meet the growing team at the IHF's Geneva Sustainability Centre The Geneva Sustainability Centre is proud to welcome new members to the team: - Already part of the Global Steering Committee, Prof. Andy Garman, Director of the Rush University Centre for Health System Leadership, becomes Interim Advisor on leadership development, conceptualization and planning.
- Alexandrina Iremciuc, Engagement Manager, will oversee branding and messaging, communications, events, and partnerships.

Carmen Menéndez takes up the position of Project Officer. In her role she supports the development and activities of the Centre.

Aditi Jayaram, healthcare specialist and medical professional, has also joined the team for 3 months as a volunteer.

Sonia Roschnik joins the judging panel for the IHF Awards 2022
Executive Director Sonia will be bringing her wealth of experience in the intersection of sustainability and health to the panel, as well as advancing the work of the Geneva Sustainability Centre in supporting hospitals becoming leaders for sustainability in their communities and provide better health for all. |

Get to know the IHF’s Governing Council Members
Our Governing Council is composed of 25 elected members and is responsible for the overall governance of the affairs of the IHF, within the boundaries of the authority of, or authorization by, the General Assembly. This month, we are pleased to introduce two of our Governing Council Members: Dr Satoru Komatsumoto (Japan Hospital Association) and Vincent Roques (French Hospital Federation).
