Taking action for a better tomorrow: Sustainability at Africa ExCon
On 6 June, at Africa Health ExCon, the IHF's session about healthcare leadership for sustainability was attended by more than 200 participants. Dr Risto Miettunen, Past President of the IHF, moderated the session. Presenters included Sonia Roschnik highlighting the launch of our Geneva Sustainability Centre, as well as Dr Edda Weimann, Christopher Lewis, and Walt Vernon. |

Healthcare and climate on the agenda at HIMSS Europe
At the session on 'Climate crisis: Healthcare’s responsibility to our planet' at the HIMSS22 European Conference on 16 June, Ronald Lavater, CEO of the IHF, presented the changing role of a hospital leader to develop a sustainability mindset. He also introduced the IHF’s Geneva Sustainability Centre, which was formed to support hospital administrators responding to climate change as it moves up their agenda.

The recording presented insights into international sustainability actions for hospitals, with key messages and practical examples for healthcare leaders to apply. |

Young Executive Leaders focus on net zero in healthcare
In June's masterclass for the IHF's YEL programme, Sonia Roschnik led a workshop for the young healthcare leaders aimed at identifying ways to turn awareness into action on tackling climate change. With breakout discussions on delivery of care, communication, governance, and infrastructure, the international perspectives of the group will benefit the participants and the work of the Geneva Sustainability Centre alike. |

Get to know the IHF’s Governing Council Members

With IHF Member, Healthcare Financial Management Association, we launched the IHF-HFMA Business of Healthcare online training for hospital financial managers in the Eastern Mediterranean region: learn.hfma.org. This programme will help nonfinance personnel better understand and apply financial principles in their health systems. |
